Fine Arts & Crafts

In this class students will observe many faces from their own to those of other cultures and times. They will learn how to identify basic shapes within faces and accurately record them. They will discuss what a portrait is and look at artists works through the ages. They will learn to see the face abstractly and realistically. Students will have fun modeling a multitude of expressions for each other making sketches which then will be used for paintings. Most likely we will have a little fun with face paint as well and talk about how primitive cultures use paint on their faces for ceremonies, rituals and celebration.

*Lunch will be provided for all morning camps PreK- 8th grade and full day camps. Bon Appetit manages the OES Dining Hall and specializes in fresh, local ingredients. Please see the Summer Lunch tab or oes.cafebonappetit.com for more information.
